Razorback signee in need of a big senior year

Matt Brown is a guy with an unbelievable work ethic, a work ethic that puts him already a level above the rest. Brown rated #10 in PBR’s missouri top 10 rankings is headed to Arkansas next fall. After a struggling Junior year Brown will need to bounce back this season to get himself higher up on draft boards.

Brown is a guy who has a big body build built for a third basemen. Attending Vianney High School in the St. Louis area, Brown holds the hot corner for the griffins. Playing last season under his first year after signing to play at the University of Arkansas once he graduates, Brown might have played under a lot of pressure after that top signing.

Standing at 6’2 207 Brown last year batted just under 400 last season for Vianney. He had 10 doubles last season to go along with 31 rbi’s. One number that stood out last season for Brown was the amount of walks he drew through 30 games.

Brown was awarded first do to a base on balls 20 times last season in 30 games played. Putting his OBP at .468. Brown has an OPS last season of 1.019.

Quick hands at the plate with great amount of power is a huge part of Brown’s approach at the plate that puts him ahead of his high school competition.

Brown needs to improve on his Defensive skills before he will start games at the SEC level, but his ability at the plate and potential to become a top line 3rd basemen Brown could see his name called come June.

A big senior season needs to be in store for Brown to see his name approach the top 15 rounds area, but leave nothing out of the question from the kid who hit over 300 as a sophomore and shined enough for Arkansas to make an offer early.
